Security is paramount for any WordPress site owner. Knowing who logs into your site and when can be the difference between a secure site and a compromised one.
In this tutorial, we will use the AlertHub WordPress Plugin to notify you instantly whenever someone logs in.
Step 1: Install the Plugin
If you haven’t already, install and activate the official AlertHub plugin from the WordPress.org directory. Check out the full documentation for installation details.
Step 2: Create a New Alert
- Navigate to Tools > AlertHub in your WordPress dashboard.
- Click on the Alerts tab.
- Click Add New.
Step 3: Configure the Hook
We want to listen to the wp_login action, which WordPress triggers after a user successfully logs in.
- Active: Checked
- WordPress Hook:
wp_login - Title:
User Login: {{0}} - Description:
User **{{0}}** has logged in. - Level:
Info(Note: Using{{0}}captures the username, which is the first argument passed by the hook.) Click Save Alert.
Result
Now, every time you or anyone else logs into your dashboard, you will receive a notification on your configured channels (Slack, Telegram, Email, etc.).
